Terms of Service

Use of Steptide is governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to all apps downloaded from the App Store. The additional terms below also apply.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Steptide. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

2. Not a medical device

Steptide is a fitness tracking and competition app, not a medical device. Activity data is for personal awareness only. You may not use Steptide for medical diagnosis, treatment, or any clinical purpose. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise routine.

3. Subscriptions

Steptide Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple through your App Store account. Pricing is set in App Store Connect and any price changes apply only to renewals after the change takes effect. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

4. Acceptable use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, including but not limited to:

• Using automated step counters, motion simulators, or any method to inflate step counts.
• Manipulating group leaderboards through fraudulent means.
• Harassing other group members or sharing inappropriate content via profile names or photos.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app’s operation.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the data you provide (your display name, profile photo, etc.). By using Steptide you grant us a limited license to display this information within the app for the purpose of running the service (e.g., showing your name on a group leaderboard).

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Steptide may be unavailable due to maintenance, third-party outages (Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat), or factors outside our control.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steptide is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use of Steptide after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
